Eagles Celebrate Super Bowl Win at White House — Trump Takes Dig at Taylor Swift
The Philadelphia Eagles visited the White House to celebrate their Super Bowl LIX victory, but the event took a political turn when President Trump used the occasion to take a swipe at pop icon Taylor Swift.
The Eagles, including star running back Saquon Barkley, were honored for their 40–22 win over the Kansas City Chiefs. During his remarks, Trump congratulated the team — but also threw in a jab at Swift, who publicly supports the Chiefs and is dating tight end Travis Kelce.
“It was an incredible game. A little surprising, but right from the beginning of the first quarter of the big game, which I watched in person. I was there along with Taylor Swift — how did that work out?” Trump said, implying that her presence didn’t help the Chiefs.
The former president’s remarks continue a pattern of public criticism of Swift. On Super Bowl Sunday, he posted on Truth Social, “The only one that had a tougher night than the Kansas City Chiefs was Taylor Swift. She got BOOED out of the stadium. MAGA is very unforgiving!”
Back in September 2024, shortly after Swift endorsed Kamala Harris for president, Trump posted bluntly, “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!”
Despite the political undertones, the Eagles’ visit largely remained focused on football. Trump praised the controversial “Tush Push” play, which has become a trademark of the Eagles’ offense, and voiced support for keeping it legal as the NFL considers potential changes.
Notably absent from the event was quarterback Jalen Hurts, who reportedly missed the ceremony due to “scheduling conflicts.” Also missing was Sen. J.D. Vance, who previously made headlines for accidentally breaking part of Ohio State’s national championship trophy during a prior White House celebration.
While the event was intended to honor the Eagles’ championship season, Trump’s comments ensured the moment carried a dose of political theater — especially for fans of both football and pop culture.
