We all have regrets—awkward moments, questionable choices, words we wish we could unsay. But for Ethan “ModBoy” Bramble, his regrets are written all over his face. Literally.
Ethan, a body modification enthusiast from Australia, has transformed nearly every inch of his body with tattoos—over 200 of them. While tattoos have become more mainstream, Ethan took things to an extreme most people wouldn’t even consider.
His body-mod journey started young. At just 11 years old, he began stretching his ears. From there, it only escalated. He’s since split his tongue, removed his belly button, and spent more than $60,000 AUD (roughly $39,000 USD) on his heavily inked look.
Now He’s Having Second Thoughts
In his 20s now, Ethan’s starting to reflect on the long-term impact of those choices—especially the tattoos on his face. Appearing on LadBibleTV’s No Filter series, he opened up about his shifting perspective.
“I guess you could say I regret some tattoos,” he said. “Not just regret—I think there’s a difference between regret and wanting to be perceived differently.”
Thinking About His Daughter’s Future
Becoming a dad changed a lot for Ethan. He’s especially aware of how his appearance might affect his daughter as she grows up.
“The face is a big thing,” he admitted. “It can cause a lot of problems for some people—not everyone—but I probably wouldn’t want my daughter to have to deal with that until she’s older.”
He added, “I wish I hadn’t gone so extreme with my face.”
Trying to Turn Back the Clock
To undo some of the damage, Ethan has been going through laser tattoo removal for more than a year—a notoriously painful and costly process.
“I’ve probably gone over the full thing six or seven times,” he shared. “We do it in sections… I started because of the anxiety and mental health stuff I was experiencing. It’s hard to pinpoint, but I feel like a lot of that anxiety came from having a face full of tattoos.”
Despite the discomfort, he’s hopeful about the future. “I’m happy with how I look now, but I’m also happy knowing that over the next two years, my face tattoos will fade more and more. I’m just clearing the canvas.”
Ethan’s story is a powerful reminder that change is possible—and that it’s never too late to rewrite your own narrative.
