To celebrate Princess Lilibet Diana’s 4th birthday on June 4, 2025, Meghan Markle shared two tender photos that offered a rare peek into her family’s life—and a touching link to her son, Prince Archie.

One image shows Meghan and Lilibet cuddled on a boat, capturing a quiet mother-daughter moment. The other, a throwback, features baby Lilibet wrapped in a soft, ivory shawl. Royal fans quickly recognized it: the same handcrafted G.H. Hurt & Son shawl used to swaddle Archie for his first public appearance in 2019.

The Nottingham-based company has been creating knitwear for royal babies since 1948, and Meghan and Harry’s choice to reuse the shawl was a subtle nod to tradition—while still honoring their modern path.

Lilibet was born in California in 2021, more than a year after the couple stepped back from royal duties. They’ve since focused on their nonprofit Archewell, family life, and creative projects, like Meghan’s podcast Confessions of a Female Founder.
