What started as a regular motocross practice ended in heartbreak when 14-year-old Camden Trail of Bassett, Virginia, was killed in a midair collision on June 7, 2025, at East Bend Motorsports in North Carolina. The tragic accident, which track officials say involved no fault on either rider’s part, claimed the life of a young athlete known for his fearless spirit and big heart. Despite immediate medical response, Camden could not be saved.
Born in 2011, Camden was passionate about motorsports and lived life to the fullest. He also enjoyed mountain biking, jet-skiing, and ran his own small lawn care business. Friends and family remember him as joyful, kind, and driven—a young man who made a big impact in his short life.
A funeral service was held on June 10. In Camden’s honor, East Bend Motorsports has launched a GoFundMe to support his family and announced plans for a commemorative plaque at the track. They also revealed the creation of the first annual “Cam” Memorial Shoot-Out Race, scheduled for June 6, 2026.
Though his time was brief, Camden Trail’s legacy continues to inspire his community and the sport he loved.
