Sally Field Names Burt Reynolds as Her Worst On-Screen Kiss
Acting legend Sally Field, now 76, didn’t hold back during a recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live. When asked about her worst on-screen kiss, she laughed and revealed it was with her former boyfriend and Smokey and the Bandit co-star Burt Reynolds. “It wasn’t something he really did well,” she joked, adding that the scenes involved “a lot of drooling.”
Field and Reynolds dated for about five years after meeting on set in 1977. While Reynolds later expressed deep regret over how things ended, Field has been candid about the relationship. In a 2023 interview, she shared that they hadn’t spoken for the last three decades of his life, saying, “He was not someone I could be around… He was just not good for me.”
Despite facing personal struggles, including a rough upbringing, Sally Field has built an iconic career. She’s starred in classics like Steel Magnolias, Forrest Gump, and Mrs. Doubtfire. Most recently, she appeared in HBO’s Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty.
