Miss Kay Robertson Mourns the Loss of Her Husband of 60 Years
One of the most challenging chapters in Miss Kay Robertson’s life is quietly unfolding. Known as the beloved matriarch of the Duck Dynasty family, Miss Kay is currently facing serious health challenges while also grieving the heartbreaking loss of her husband, Phil Robertson.
Phil, the family patriarch, passed away on May 25 after a battle with Alzheimer’s disease. He was 79 years old. The couple had been together for more than six decades.
In a recent interview, their son Willie Robertson opened up about his mother’s emotional and physical state, saying, “We’re doing everything we can to support her. She lost her 60-year partner.”
Missing from the Spotlight
Miss Kay, known for her signature Southern warmth and deep Christian faith, was noticeably absent from the Duck Dynasty: The Revival premiere on June 1 in Monroe, Louisiana. While many fans missed her presence, Willie shared that her absence wasn’t just due to health—it was emotional too.
“She’s just depressed,” he said. “She’s going through so much.”
Although she made some appearances in the early episodes of the reboot, Miss Kay has reportedly stepped back from filming in recent months due to her declining health.
A Health Scare and Ongoing Care
Concerns for Miss Kay’s well-being first surfaced in April, when her son Jase Robertson revealed on the Unashamed podcast that she had suffered a fall and developed a serious infection. The condition was bad enough to require hospitalization.
“We were sort of dealing with the fact that maybe this is it,” Jase said at the time.
Miss Kay has since been staying in a care facility the family lovingly refers to as “Kay’s Kingdom,” where she receives 24/7 medical attention and is surrounded by close friends and family.
“My mom is not doing well physically,” Jase shared. “But we’re trying our best to lift her spirits.”
A Love That Endured
Even in the final weeks of his life, Phil was comforted by the presence of his wife and children. Their bond—built on faith, forgiveness, and decades of shared life—remained strong to the very end.
Willie honored his father with a touching tribute after his passing:
“He was the real deal. Sundays were the same as Fridays. I’m thankful you raised me right and gave me the lessons I’d need to handle the day you left us.”
A New Chapter for the Robertson Family
Earlier this year, A&E announced the return of Duck Dynasty after an eight-year hiatus. The revival series follows Willie, his wife Korie, their children—John Luke, Sadie, Will, Bella, and Rebecca—and their growing number of grandchildren.
Unlike the original series, the reboot promises to offer a more personal, faith-driven look into the Robertson family’s life. While Miss Kay may not appear on screen as much, her presence and influence are still deeply felt.
Her sons say she isn’t doing well. But longtime fans of Duck Dynasty know one thing for sure: Miss Kay’s strength runs deep.
And with her faith, her family, and the love that surrounds her, she has everything she needs to face what comes next.
