A Boy Who Once Was The World’s Heaviest Kid Proves That There Is No Goal That Cannot Be Reached

Arya Permana, a teenager from Indonesia, was once known as the “world’s fattest kid.” At just 15 years old, he weighed 421 pounds and had to bathe outside in a custom-built pool because of his size. Walking short distances left him breathless, and he had to stop going to school. Even clothes didn’t fit him — for a long time, Arya wore only a sarong.

Back then, Arya was eating five large meals a day — enough to feed two adults — made up of rice, meat, fish, soup, and soy patties. But one day, Arya decided he didn’t want to live that way anymore. He wanted change — and he made it happen.

With the help of his trainer, Ade Rai, Arya adopted a healthier lifestyle. He began learning how to exercise, eat a balanced diet, and take better care of his body. Over time, he dropped an astonishing 238 pounds — going from 421 to 183 pounds. He also underwent a major weight-loss surgery that helped him better manage his appetite.

Today, Arya is a completely different kid. He can walk to school, play soccer with his friends, and even run around — things that once felt impossible. His transformation has inspired people everywhere. Many now say, “If Arya can do it, so can I.”

Arya’s story is a powerful reminder that change is possible, no matter how tough the journey. With support, determination, and a little hope, you can take control of your life — just like Arya did.

So, what’s a goal you’re ready to chase, no matter what? Got a story of your own to share? We’d love to hear it!
