At just 10 years old, Princess Charlotte made a touching tribute to her late great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, during this year’s Trooping the Colour celebration in London.
Wearing a light teal dress, Charlotte caught eyes not just for her poise but for a meaningful accessory — a diamond horseshoe brooch once owned by Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother. The brooch, which Charlotte also wore to the Queen’s funeral in 2022, honors the late monarch’s lifelong love of horses.
Charlotte’s look coordinated with her mother, Princess Kate, who wore a blue coat dress by Catherine Walker and completed her outfit with jewelry once belonging to the Queen, including the Bahrain Pearl Drop earrings from Elizabeth’s 1947 wedding.
The annual ceremony marks King Charles’ official birthday and included a grand military parade, a flypast by the Royal Air Force, and the Royal Family’s traditional appearance on the Buckingham Palace balcony. Due to ongoing cancer treatment, King Charles rode in a carriage instead of on horseback.
Notably absent were Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and Prince Andrew, in line with the King’s push for a more streamlined royal family.
With over 1,400 soldiers and hundreds of musicians taking part, the event remains a cherished royal tradition — and this year, it was made even more poignant by a granddaughter’s quiet tribute to the Queen who inspired generations.
