In a world obsessed with perfection, Becca Lee Brewer shines by simply being herself. Born with a blue nevus—a rare, pigmented birthmark covering much of her face—Becca has faced more than her share of stares and struggles. But instead of hiding, she chose to transform her journey into one of resilience, creativity, and self-love.
Originally from South Korea, Becca was adopted at just eight months old. Throughout her childhood, she underwent numerous laser treatments in an effort to lighten her birthmark—procedures that left her skin marked and her spirit dimmed. By her teenage years, she felt deeply introverted and ashamed of how she looked.
Everything changed when she discovered makeup at age 12. What began as a way to cover up soon became a powerful tool for self-expression. YouTube tutorials gave her the skills and confidence to experiment—and eventually, to teach. Becca didn’t just find makeup; she found a voice.
In 2017, she posted a photo of her face—half with makeup, half bare. That moment of vulnerability turned into a wave of support, and it pushed her to become a makeup artist and an advocate for self-acceptance.
Becca now uses her platform to challenge unrealistic beauty standards and promote authenticity. She reminds others that confidence can come and go—and that’s okay. Some days are tough, but being open about that struggle is part of the healing.
Her message is simple but powerful: your worth isn’t measured by how well you fit in. It’s in how bravely you show up as you are. Becca may have a birthmark, but she’s determined not to be defined by it. Instead, she’s using it to connect, uplift, and remind us all that real beauty doesn’t need to be filtered.
