Son Makes Heartbreaking Confession After Video Of Mom Hugging Him Goes Viral

A touching post-game hug between a Utah teen and his mom went viral — but not for the reasons they expected.

Amber Wright shared a video of her son Brixton picking her up and embracing her after a football game. What was meant to be a proud moment turned into online controversy, with some people criticizing how affectionate the hug appeared.

Despite the backlash, many came to their defense, calling out the negativity. One supporter wrote, “Boys love their mamas — nothing wrong with that.”

Now Brixton has spoken up himself, making a heartfelt — and heartbreaking — statement. In a comment on the video, he wrote:

“Some of you need Jesus. She’s my mom. I did pick her up — she didn’t jump on me. It was a hug. Get the f*** over it.”

He later revealed a painful truth: his father died by suicide on April 4, 2021. Brixton now wears jersey number 44 in his honor and said this was the first time his mom saw him wear it in person — making the hug deeply emotional for them both.

“My mom’s been the only one there for me my whole life,” Brixton wrote in a message Amber shared on Instagram. “She’s my hero.”

Amber echoed her son’s strength, writing:

“Y’all who tried to break us — you FAILED… If you’re still watching a year later, you’re a fan.”

For Brixton and Amber, the hug wasn’t just love — it was a lifetime of struggle, loss, and loyalty wrapped into one moment.
