A 13-year-old boy has been arrested after allegedly setting four vehicles on fire early Saturday morning in Detroit.
The fires broke out around 1 a.m. near Greenfield and Schoolcraft, with police first spotting flames at a local collision shop. Shortly after, another fire was reported at a second nearby shop. Investigators say four vehicles were torched between the two locations.
The teen was caught in the area after a brief foot chase. It’s still unclear how the fires were started or why the shops were targeted.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) is now assisting with the investigation.
Detroit Police are urging parents to keep track of their children’s whereabouts, especially during late-night hours.
