Siamese twin sisters were born with their heads joined, but at 1 year old doctors separated them: Here’s what the girls look like today

Erin and Abby Delaney were born in 2016 with their heads fused — one of the rarest and most dangerous forms of conjoined twins. Doctors warned their parents that survival was uncertain, but at just 10 months old, the girls underwent a high-risk separation surgery that lasted more than 10 hours. Miraculously, both survived.

Recovery was long and challenging. The sisters had to relearn basic skills like holding up their heads, sitting, and moving, while their brains adapted to functioning separately. Through rehabilitation, support, and endless love, they slowly thrived.

Today, Erin and Abby are 9 years old. Their development is a little different from other children, but they laugh, play, learn, and live happy lives. Their mother says the most beautiful thing of all is seeing them hug each other — something once thought impossible.
