When Tomm Tennent was born in Australia in 1993, doctors were stunned — he had enough skin to cover a 5-year-old child. With no clear cause or treatment, his parents could only hope he’d grow into it.
Doctors later discovered Tomm had extremely high levels of hyaluronic acid, similar to Shar Pei puppies. As predicted, his skin gradually tightened as he grew, though childhood came with teasing and challenges.
Now in his 30s, Tomm lives happily in Frankston, Victoria, with his wife Hannah. His story, once a medical mystery, has become an inspiring journey of resilience and acceptance. On his Facebook profile, he sums it up best: “Life’s simple. You make choices, and you don’t look back.”
