Fox News anchor Harris Faulkner is best known for her poise and authority on TV. But off-camera, she’s living a love story straight out of a romantic comedy—complete with a rocky start, a surprising proposal, and a relationship that’s only grown stronger over two decades.

Her husband? Tony Berlin—a former TV journalist turned PR executive. Once a competitor in the newsroom, he’s now her biggest supporter and life partner. And yes, their love story began with a bit of professional rivalry… and one very awkward first impression.

The (Not-So-Perfect) First Meeting

Back when both were working in Minneapolis—Faulkner anchoring for ABC, Berlin reporting for CBS—Tony made the first move. Kind of.

“He asked to meet me… and then showed up to a party with a date!” Faulkner said, laughing. “That takes some nerve!”

But nerves turned into charm. After spending six months in the friend zone, Berlin eventually won her over. Just over a year later, he proposed during a lakeside walk near Lake Superior—by tossing her a small box.

“He said, ‘Don’t drop that!’” Faulkner remembered. “I opened it—and there was the ring.”

They tied the knot on April 12, 2003, in Arizona, and they’ve been a team ever since.

From Competing Networks to Complementary Careers

Tony Berlin isn’t just Harris Faulkner’s husband—he’s a seasoned media pro in his own right. With a journalism career that included stints at CBS, CNN, NBC, and ABC, he eventually pivoted to PR, founding Berlin Media Relations in 2011.

Faulkner once called him a “really talented live-shot artist.” These days, instead of chasing stories, he helps brands make the headlines.

A Modern Family With Shared Values

Together, Harris and Tony are raising two daughters—Bella (born in 2006) and Danika (born in 2009)—in what Faulkner affectionately calls their “Benetton ad family.”

“We’re racially and religiously different,” she told PEOPLE. “And it’s beautiful.”

Faulkner is Christian; Berlin is Jewish. At home, they embrace both faiths—from Sunday church services to reading the Haggadah during Passover. For them, it’s not about differences—it’s about unity.

“We share every meal. We share a prayer,” Faulkner said. “There’s more that unites us than divides us.”

A Husband Who Honors Her Past

Berlin has supported more than just her career—he’s helped honor her roots. Before Faulkner’s father passed away in 2020, Berlin recorded interviews with him that later appeared in her Fox Nation special, Footsteps of My Father.

“You can hear my dad’s voice telling his war stories—because Tony saved them,” Faulkner said.

20 Years, One Team

To celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary, Berlin gifted Faulkner a custom Kansas City Chiefs jersey with her name and the number 20 on the back.

“I was confused—I said, ‘Wait, Mahomes is 15!’” she recalled with a laugh. “Then he said, ‘You’re on my team.’”
