Riley Keough Celebrates Grandmother Priscilla Presley’s Milestone 80th Birthday with Throwback Photo from the 1960s

Happy 80th birthday to Priscilla Presley!

The iconic businesswoman and actress celebrated her milestone birthday on Saturday, May 24. To mark the special day, her granddaughter, actress Riley Keough, shared a sweet tribute on Instagram Stories.

“HBD queen,” Keough, 35, wrote over a vintage photo of Priscilla from the 1960s. In the throwback image, originally posted by a fan page and reshared by Keough, a young Priscilla is seen behind the wheel of a car, sporting a floral-inspired headband and exuding timeless style.

Earlier in the month, Priscilla’s son, Navarone Garibaldi Garcia, honored her for Mother’s Day with a heartfelt Instagram post. “Happy Mother’s Day to my whole world. I love you mama,” the 38-year-old musician captioned a photo of the two.

This year’s birthday celebration comes just ahead of another major moment for Priscilla. She recently announced the upcoming release of her new memoir, Softly, As I Leave You: Life After Elvis, hitting shelves on September 23.

Co-written with Mary Jane Ross, the book explores Priscilla’s deeply personal journey of rediscovery after the loss of Elvis Presley. According to the publisher, it delves into what she lost—and ultimately found—as she learned to stand on her own. It also reflects on her role as a single mother to Lisa Marie Presley and later as a mother again to Navarone, whom she welcomed in 1987 with producer Marco Garibaldi.

“This book covers eight decades of my life,” Priscilla shared in a statement to People. “Writing it has been a learning experience on many levels. I have reflected deeply both on myself and on those I love.”

“I have always loved and admired Elvis,” she added, “but the more than four decades of living without him have taught me how rare and extraordinary he was as a human being.”

Last year, Garcia marked his mom’s 79th birthday with a photo montage on Instagram, featuring family moments at a Beverly Hills restaurant. The post included Riley Keough, as well as Lisa Marie’s twin daughters, Harper and Finley, with ex-husband Michael Lockwood.

“Happy, Happy, HAAAAPIEST of birthdays to the best mama in the whole world @priscillapresley,” Garcia wrote in that 2023 post. “Hope you enjoyed your night last night. I love you so so much.”

Softly, As I Leave You: Life After Elvis is available for preorder now wherever books are sold and will be released on September 23.
