Plus-sized influencer defends her body after being shamed by neighbors

A viral TikTok video is making waves online for promoting body positivity and challenging outdated beauty standards. At the heart of the buzz is Gillian, a confident plus-size woman who isn’t afraid to speak her truth—and wear exactly what she wants.

In her trending video, Gillian—who posts under the handle @spanxbeluga—makes a bold statement:
“I’m a fatty and wear what I want in my pool. I don’t care if it makes my neighbors uncomfortable.”

Titled “What I wear in my pool that makes my neighbour feel uncomfortable,” the clip shows her swapping a bright orange summer dress for a pale blue bikini, confidently embracing her figure and fashion choices.

Though she’s faced criticism for dressing how she wants, Gillian remains firm in her belief that everyone should have the freedom to express themselves through style, regardless of their size. When one commenter claimed that “modesty is dead,” she clapped back with humor:
“It should have died a long time ago.”

Despite the occasional negativity, Gillian’s comments section has become a hub of support, filled with praise for her self-confidence. Some followers even speculated that her neighbor’s disapproval might be more about jealousy than discomfort.

In a follow-up response, Gillian made it clear she isn’t dressing to provoke anyone—she’s simply honoring herself.
“It’s not my goal to make people uncomfortable. People are uncomfortable because I wear what I want, and I’m a bigger person. That’s not on me,” she said.
“I’m not going to cover up for anyone. That’s not who I am. I’m not going to feel bad about how I look.”

She added that feeling comfortable in her own skin is what truly matters:
“Clothing is a form of expression. I wear what I like, and that’s just what I do. And society isn’t going to tell me not to.”

Gillian’s video is more than a viral moment—it’s a powerful reminder that confidence doesn’t come in one size and that everyone deserves the right to feel good about who they are.
