Jessica Alves, who rose to fame as the “human Ken doll,” has been in the spotlight for years due to her dramatic transformation through plastic surgery. From nose jobs to cat-eye lifts and more, Jessica has undergone over a million dollars’ worth of procedures to shape her ideal self. Now, she says she’s finally reached the version of herself she’s always dreamed of — and is putting surgery behind her for good.
Born in Brazil and assigned male at birth, Jessica was known as Rodrigo Alves during the early part of her public life. But even as a child, she says she knew she was a girl. Her love for Barbie dolls — a gift from her grandfather — was the first sign of the identity she hadn’t yet shared with the world.
As a young adult, she began using cosmetic surgery to ease her deep insecurities. By 2018, she’d earned global fame as the “human Ken doll,” having spent around $500,000 on procedures that altered everything from her face to her physique.
But in 2020, Jessica revealed her truth to the world: she’s transgender. “I’m known as Ken, but inside I’ve always felt like Barbie,” she said. “For years, I tried to live as a man — I had fake abs, fake muscles — but I was lying to myself.”
Since coming out, Jessica has continued her transition with gender-affirming surgeries, enhancing her body to reflect the woman she always felt herself to be. By 2023, she estimated that she had spent over $1 million on her transformation.
Now, for the first time, Jessica says she’s at peace with her reflection. “I’m 100% done with plastic surgery,” she said. “I look amazing, I feel amazing. I love being a woman, and I take pride in it. I am the woman of my dreams.”
Jessica isn’t alone in her journey — other influencers, like 29-year-old Dalia Naeem from Iraq, have also gained attention for their “Barbie-like” transformations. But Jessica’s story stands out as one of resilience, identity, and the pursuit of authenticity — finally realized.
