Lalit Patidar, a 17-year-old from central India, was born with a rare condition called hypertrichosis, which causes excessive hair growth all over his body and face. At birth, his parents were stunned. Even the nurse called in a doctor out of concern—but thankfully, Lalit was healthy.

As he grew, his family tried everything to remove the hair, but nothing worked. For years, they didn’t know the name of the condition. They just saw it as a birth defect. In reality, it’s one of the rarest disorders in the world—affecting just 1 in 340 million people.

Life with hypertrichosis hasn’t been easy. The facial hair often gets in his eyes, mouth, and nose, making it difficult to eat, see, or even breathe comfortably. “I wish I didn’t have hair on my face,” he once shared.

Socially, things were tough too. As a child, he was mocked and called “monkey boy.” Some kids even threw stones. But thanks to a compassionate teacher who stepped in, Lalit slowly found acceptance among his peers.

Today, Lalit is thriving. He dreams of becoming a police officer and shares his life with over 140,000 followers as a vlogger. Despite the challenges, he lives like any other teen—laughing, learning, and chasing big dreams.
