After losing a significant amount of weight, Jacqueline Adan was left with about 30 pounds of excess skin. The physical toll was tough—but the emotional impact was even harder. Over time, though, Jacqueline found acceptance, and her life began to change for the better.
That acceptance wasn’t always easy. As she became more confident and visible, Jacqueline started receiving cruel comments from strangers. It was a stark reminder that, despite all her progress, some people would only see what was on the outside.
One major turning point came during a trip to Mexico. For the first time in years, Jacqueline wore a swimsuit without a cover-up. It was a nerve-wracking moment. Standing by the pool, she still felt like the same girl she used to be—the one who hid her body out of fear.
But then it happened. People stared. Some even whispered and laughed about her loose skin—an unavoidable result of her incredible transformation. Jacqueline faced a choice: retreat or rise.
“So what did I do?” she later shared. “I took a deep breath, smiled, and walked into the pool. That was a huge moment for me. I had changed. I was not the same girl anymore.”
She chose to smile.
Jacqueline is open about the fact that she still has tough days. There are moments when the negativity gets to her. But she reminds herself—and others—that it’s okay to feel that way. What matters most is not what others say, but how you respond.
“They don’t know me,” she said. “They don’t know how hard I’ve worked.”
So far, Jacqueline has had four skin removal surgeries, with a few more still ahead. Since insurance doesn’t cover these procedures, her fiancé Kevin created a fundraiser to help with the cost. Through it all, Jacqueline remains focused on what truly matters: loving herself and living life on her own terms.
She’s found real joy not just in how she looks, but in who she’s become. Fitness has become a major part of her lifestyle, and she now works as a personal trainer, helping others find their own strength.
Jacqueline continues to share her story on Instagram, where she spreads messages of body positivity, self-love, and resilience. She challenges unrealistic beauty standards and embraces what’s right for her—not what society expects.
She and Kevin, her partner of over a decade, got engaged back in 2013. With her final surgeries on the horizon, Jacqueline now dreams of planning a Disney-themed wedding and continuing to inspire others with her journey.
Her story is far from over—but every step forward is a reminder of how far she’s come.
