Amber Luke, famously known as the “Dragon Girl,” has spent over $300,000 on tattoos, surgeries, piercings, and body modifications. With 99% of her body now inked, she says her transformation journey is far from over.
“There will never be a point where I am done self-evolving,” Amber told IGV. “Change is beautiful and bold.”
Among her most extreme choices was tattooing her eyeballs—an irreversible and risky procedure that left her temporarily blind for three weeks due to a mishap during the process.
Amber’s path hasn’t been without complications, including infections, social stigma, and professional hurdles. “Finding regular work is tough,” she admits. “Even going clubbing can be an issue.”
Despite public criticism and strangers calling her “ugly” or saying she’s “ruined herself,” Amber stands firm. “Not everyone is supposed to find me beautiful. That doesn’t give anyone the right to tear me down.”
Surrounded by a supportive circle, Amber has no regrets—though she does mourn the loss of her old self-image. “I despise how I looked before. Losing my visual identity is rough—but I’ve worked hard for what I am now.”
