A 92-year-old World War II veteran showed that courage doesn’t fade with age when he fought off a late-night intruder in his home.
Authorities say the armed suspect broke in, not realizing the elderly man was a trained marksman. Acting on instinct, the veteran fired in self-defense, stopping the intruder before he could carry out the robbery.
Neighbors described the man as quiet and humble, but toughened by a lifetime of battles. “He wasn’t about to let anyone take his life or his home,” one neighbor said.
