Murder Suspect Shocks Court: ‘My Burned Hands Can’t Even Pull a Trigger!’”

A courtroom in Augusta was stunned when 20-year-old Zaquan Shaquez Jamison, accused of murder and attempted murder, argued he couldn’t have done it—because his hands no longer work.

Jamison told the judge his hands were severely burned in a 2023 car crash, leaving them stiff and unusable. “They can’t even bend,” he said. His parents support his defense and plan to sue, insisting his injuries make it impossible for him to fire a gun.

Prosecutors, however, maintain evidence links him to the shootings. The case has divided the public—some see a desperate excuse, others believe his condition is a valid defense.

Doctors and burn specialists are expected to testify, making this trial a rare clash between medical reality and criminal law.
